Electric guitar fault finding
Crackling, intermittent output, poor switching, unstable playability or unusual noise can have several causes. SR Guitars offers an electronics inspection and fault diagnosis for £10 so the problem can be identified before parts are replaced unnecessarily.
Common repairs carried out by SR Guitars
Typical work includes input jack replacement, pickup selector switch replacement, volume and tone pot replacement, pickup replacement, minor soldering and wiring repairs, and complete electronics rewires where required. Playability issues can also be addressed through action and intonation adjustment or a full set-up.
Straightforward pricing
Labour prices are published on the SR Guitars website, with replacement parts charged separately. Where a guitar has unusually complex access — particularly some semi-hollow instruments — the job may need an individual quote.
Semi-hollow and difficult-access guitars
Some hollow and semi-hollow guitars are significantly more involved because the controls and wiring may need to be worked through the pickup or f-hole openings. Recent SR Guitars work includes an Epiphone Casino fitted with premium CTS pots, set up and polished.
